Ruby Brewer

Funeral services for Ruby Brewer will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God in Hugo, OK with Rev. Keithen Brown officiating and burial following in the Sawyer Cemetery. Ruby passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 79.

Ruby Bernice Brewer was born December 13, 1932, in Mena, Arkansas, the daughter of Russell Irvin and Laura Elizabeth (Scott) Pike. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, and playing bingo with her many friends at the Baptist Village. She attended church and singings at the nursing home when unable to attend church where she was very faithful. You could find her many times serving coffee to residents at the nursing home as she was always trying to help someone. She will be greatly missed there as well as by her family. They will miss the hourly phone calls from her as she always had to know where and how everyone was. She would always ask how each child and grandchild was every day. Her family was always on her mind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Irvin and Laura Elizabeth (Scott) Pike; infant son, Russell Oliver Brewer; two sisters, Freda Blagg and Bertha Wade; two infant twin brothers.

Ruby is survived by two sons, Randal Brewer and wife Patti of Haileyville, OK, Dewayne Brewer and wife Twila of Hugo, OK; one daughter, Rosie Daniel of Hugo, OK; grandchildren, Kenneth James Daniel Jr. and wife Carrie of Antlers, OK, Melissa Robinson and husband Nick of Bixby, OK, Oliver Edward Brewer and fiancée Samantha Campbell of Poteau, OK, Angela Brewer of Golden, OK, Dewayne Irvin Brewer Jr. of Hugo, OK, Michael Brewer of Hugo, OK; great grandchildren, Hunter Daniel, Megan Gardner, Donald Ray Blagg, Johnny Lavell Blagg, Teresa Marrie Cogburn, Dustin Lee Cogburn; several nieces, nephews, and loving friends at Baptist Village; very special friend and roommate, Margie Wright.

Family and friends are also invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.mtolivefh.com.
